DVB-S Support in March still on track?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the dvb-s support scheduled for March.

Currently, I'm using Mytheatre with the sagetv plugin on Sage 5. I would really like to upgrade to version 6, if I could eliminate Mytheatre and tune my DVB-S directly in Sage. Does anyone know if this would be possible in the March release?

Is the March release still on target?

Thanks in advance....

I'd certainly like to knwo this myself. I know PLENTY of people that would jump right onboard if Sagetv supported DVB-S and supported many of the dvb-s cards in the same breath. It also would require MDAPI filter support however....and in my case it would also need diseqc switching and DishPro lnb support. Lots to do but completely feasible.

No it doesn't. I don't think they understand what this could do for us/them.

It is true. I've wanted to give MediaPortal a try (they do have native MDAPI support) but my system is running so decently right now I am leary about changing anything.

As annoying as it is sometimes to use the MyTheatre Network Encoder... it does work, and at the end of the day I suppose that's all that matters.

It works BUT its slow to change channels, relies on other software that apparently has it's own issues, and simply is cumbersome to use for everyday livetv or to rely on if I go on vacation for a week (that would most likely die in the first couple days or recording).

I'm not going to knock sage, as i have been using it quite a bit for my Movies, avi files, etc. for that it works great.

But I think for my MDAPI needs i may have to consider testing mediaportal.

I'm thinking about taking that plunge myself. Have you found any how-to's on it that make it simple? Thanks!

DVB-S/S2 is in testing now internally. It's coming soon.

Well, the Mytheatre method was crashing for me on a daily basis also when I was using the old 3.36 version. When I upgraded to MT 3.38 and properly licensed the software with a valid key, no more crashes. It's been running strong for 2 weeks.

Yes... slow channel changes...

Going on nearly 3 months of internal testing and there hasn't been even a beta release. Makes me wonder if there ever was testing....and what "soon" really means.

Please check out and try the v6.2.4 beta. DVB-S was included in that beta, which was released on June 29, almost 3 weeks ago.

Edit: I also posted a request for more feedback here.
