VIA EX series for a HD client?

Has anyone seen these mini-itx mainboards? Looks like they might be excellent for a small, silent HD client.

Wondering if anyone knows any different.

I've always been fascinated by these mini-ITXs.

Just two things kept me away from them- cost Vs CPU power and upgrade potential. (add to that the Xbox media capabilities with XBMC )

I didn't check what these cost right now, but last I checked you could almost put together a decent mATX client with a good Video Out/SPDIF sound out for close to the same cost. With the recent burst in HD programming...I think these would not efficiently handle the HD content load.

If the above are not your limiting factors- then these are really good clients...at least non-HD media clients....just my 2c...never had one of these so can't really say too much about what they can do......

The board mentioned above sells for $267 at logicsupply.com with a 1.5ghz processor and fan or a 1ghz processor with no fan.

The price doesn't seem to bad, but what really made me do a double take are all of the A/V outputs on the board.

I've also been interested in these mini-itx boards for a while but was under the impression that they weren't able to handle HD video, but this one seems to be built for that purpose.

Then again, might just be wiser to wait for the much talked about HD extender to come out. . .
