Where is Lirc Documented / For Modes

Hey. I have the sage manual. search for lirc = nothing. What I want is to have a remote mode for sagetv and other modes that don't send. Can sagetv read .lircrc and respect the modes?

well I guess I answered my own question with strace. You guys aren't reading my lirc.conf, just talking to the socket directly. It would be nice if you would respect .lircrc and mode settings...

I want to control sagetv when it's not focused (We put it on the tv while someone else can use other programs on the monitor). Irxevent doesn't work...sending events to the top window id doesn't work! it only works when I say send to current window ID.

Notice the sage top window ID is different than the 'current window' when it's focused:

Recieved code: 000000008001006c 00 ati_down AtiRemote
Sending event:
name: CurrentWindow
keyname: Down WindowID: 0x280001c
Key Down CurrentWindow
Unmodified String: Down, KeySym: 65364 KeyCode: 104
state 0x0, keycode 0x68

Hopefully a final followup. Irxevent sucks. It is slow. It sends so many round trips through X it's not even funny. My wife was getting frustrated that holding the ff button down (on our ati remote wonder) would cause events to 'build up' and keep being executed for 10 seconds after she released the button. Using sages built in lirc support is much faster, no lag or event build up, although with the caveat your .lirrc won't be read so you can't use any modes.

My work around for that is just put sagetv back to the 'main' screen, or close it, and then my play or stop buttons won't cause it to do anything when I only wanted to control amarok or something...
