Problem:Linux 7.04 Placeshifter window won't resize

Help! I have installed Placeshifter on my Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (7.0.4) box with an ATI 5x00 card. When I watch sage from my 6.1 server, and switch between windowed, and full screen, the placeshifter gets stuck in full screen mode. I am unable to resize it back down. The menu bar just appears, but won't allow me to grab and drag. I've tried disabling the "custom menu bar" in the settings, but still no luck. Can somebody give me a clue?

ditto, same problem here since version 6. I am currently working with Sage support to try and get this fixed.

but you should formally report this to Sage support and give them all your hardware/software specs so they can try to find the common problem.

Thank you for the response. I've reinstalled the app in Linux and as long as I don't use the "full screen" option, I'm good to go for now, but I'll submit a bug report. Keep me posted as to any developments on your end. Thanks again for the response.

update: sent *another* detailed report to SageTV to try and follow up. Still haven't received a response (but I assume they are working on it).

Anybody have any idea why this is happening? FYI, in my case, when I resize the window, it will allow me to drag the border, but as soon as I let go, it resizes to fill up the entire screen again.

So far I haven't found any other Java/Opengl/Video application that exhibits the same behavior in linux.

Same problem here with Ubuntu 7.04. Sent a trouble report to Sage today. Guess we'll see what happens.. Be nice to have it work right..

I just wanted to report that this problem has finally went away for me.

It may have to do with the new beta placeshifter client... but I also recently updated mesa to the git version.

Anyways, my main complaint of the client not resizing has been fixed (a problem similar but different from yours). But the fullscreen switch still causes the window to "stick" to being fullscreen.

The beta release notes don't mention any resize fixes. So the problems may be caused by our versions of xorg-server and mesa.

What drivers are you running? I've had problems getting the placeshifter working with ATI's drivers.

I have an integrated intel chipset 855gm. Using the latest git drivers (2.1.0).

I don't have any solutions, but out of curiosity, what video card and drivers are you using? I tried getting Placeshifter to work with ATI's X300 linux drivers without any luck. It works fine with the open source Radeon driver though.

I am using an Nvidia 6600GT with the Nvidia-GLX driver. I am also using Ubuntu 7.04.

Tech support just told me this is still flagged but has not been resolved yet. Hopefully it will get looked at soon.
