How do I send a Channel Prefix with a USB-UIRT?
The IR emitter is working perfectly, however the receiver just needs to be woken up first. I have searched everywhere, and it doesn't appear there is anyway to change the receiver, so I just really need to transmit an "OK" or "ENTER" before sending the channel change.
How do I send a Channel Prefix with a USB-UIRT? I am looking for a way to either send some type of code before the channel change (OK or ENTER), or possibly sending the channel change a second time. |

Can you change the number of digits to broadcast out? If you need 3 try changing it to 4, the first digit will probably be a 0 so I don't know if that will help out or not.

I changed the digits from 3 to 4 and it appears to work about 90% of the time... so that is a lot better than it has been!!!! It was only working about 10% of the time!! Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!!!
I would still like to know if there is a way to put a global prefix on channel changes, so if anyone knows, please give a hint on where that option or setting can be found. Thanks Again!! |

Just turn off the sleep function of the STB and this isn't an issue.

So I got it working in the area where you learn the remote control commands for tuning. I was at first having issues where it didn't want to remember that it had learned the Enter command, but once I fixed that it worked fine.
Just learn whatever command you need for the prefix and then assign that to the Channel Change Prefix Code setting. You may need to increase the delay between channel changes. At first when it turned my box on it would miss the first number, but this was fixed by increasing the time between channel changes (not the time inbewtween numbers). I suspect the Prefix and the Channel are two different items for SageTV.

I'd be careful using enter as your prefix... Occasionally my tuner ends up on a "buy it now" page... pressing enter may be an expensive option. I use Channel up as my prefix as it will usually get out of these nag screens as well. Note, this is with Dishnetwork.
