Sorry I forgot to answer your customs questions.

They shipped it back as return to owner or warrenty work or something like that and I didn't have to pay any duty.

I haven't had time to look into the service app thingy. I just realized this is an issue yesterday.

The problem is that Sage starts up and doesn't have any tuners. Sage is then happy to report a green disk bar because nothing is going to be recorded - ever.

Thanks again !!! I appreciate it. I planning on switching from Rogers to StarChoice and have two STB modded to become R5000 tuners. Your answers are helping me fill in some blanks.

I run Sage as a service but the R5000 app that you have to run constantly doesn't run as a service so if my server reboots, I have to go manually run things or I start missing recordings.
Greg, Just grab the R5000 app and drag it into your startup folder. After I had the same problem once, this is what I did.

another issues I am having:

1) I have a PC server and a Mac client using the client, not placeshifter

what I am finding is that when I record an HD show that is about 2 - 2.5 hours, during playback, the mac starts stuttering and really stops playback after 1.5 hours. It plays back fine on the HD extender as long as I don't try to playback from where the mac stops.

Very nice indeed. Ordered parts in the morning had it by 5pm (local pick up is a UPS store in Marham).

They were very responsive and answered my questions timely via email. Recommended if you need antenna/hdtv parts in Toronto area or Canada in general.
