Sage 6.1.9 Extremely Sluggish - all of a sudden
I've been running 6.1.9 with no problems since its release. Just today it started acting weird on me, with the first signs being the spinning orbit and a long delay to find recordings on my client.
I decided to go to my server to see what was going on. I shut down the service and restarted. It seems like it took an excessively long period of time to get a "ping" from my encoders. Once it did, I went back to my client, tried to play a program from the program guide, but it wouldn't find any encoders. Thinking that my installation was corrupt, I uninstalled the Sage Server, deleted the directory, and did a reinstall. I then copied over my properties and wiz.bin file. From my server, I started Sage. The Sage TV Core Initializing message sat there for several minutes, and then finally went past it and the server started. I checked my encoders and they all said true and functioning. Yet, if I try to play something from the program guide it tells me it can't find my encoders. CPU useage on the server seems normal, however something is not right. Is this a sign that I have some hardware issues or is it time for a reinstallation of XP? I've never run into this before, and as I said from the outset, I've had 6.1.9 working fine until earlier today. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for pointing me to the FAQ which addressed my problem. It was a major PITA, however all is well now. Again, thanks,
