Horrible Pixelation on PVR250

This just started happening tonight, everything was fine yesterday.

I have 2 Starchoice satellite receivers, hooked up to 2 Hauppauge PVR-250's.

Tonight one of the tuners started having horrible video pixelation, but the audio was fine. At first I thought it might be one of my satellite receivers going, so I switched the satellite receivers, but the pixelation still occurs on the same PVR-250.

Is the PVR-250 hosed? Anything I can do to fix this? The other PVR-250 isn't having any problems at all.

Thanks.

-Peter

Update: It appears to only pixelate when there is any type of movement (even slight movement, camera shift, etc) on the screen. If a static image is there, then there isn't any pixelation. It's quite annoying.

I believe that is how the mpeg format works - it only transmits the pixel changes between frames, rather than the entire frame. The ultimate challenge for any of these video systems is fast acting hockey games which is very susceptible to pixilation.

Clearly, something changed and has slowed down the transcoding process on your machine.

Is something else running on your computer that is slowing it down?

Your video driver might've changed. Did you run Windows update?

Are you using a media extender? The video quality on the server settings might've changed from "high" to "standard".

Also, your video encoder might've changed. Did you install any new software? It might've put a new encoder in the Windows encoder cesspool and replaced the previous one. Lots of detailed settings can also affect this.

Thanks for the reply.

I re-loaded the Hauppauge drivers, and that appears to have worked. Not sure what happened, seems strange that only one of the tuners would do that and not the other one.

All (appears) to be working now, thanks for the suggestions.
