Shuffle Whole Music Library?

Is there any way to shuffle the whole music library? Either that or some way to automatically create a playlist? I have over 7000 songs in my library so it's kind of tedious to have to go through and select each song you want on your playlist. With as much music as I have the ability to create playlists based on criteria rather than handpicking each song individually is a huge advantage. Either that or shuffle the whole library as I do on my iPod.

The default STV doesn't currently have an option to play the entire music collection.

If you would like to do it via playlists, then you could select each Genre or maybe each Year, then add the entire group into an "All Music" playlist. There is currently a limit for how large a group it will add to a playlist at once, so if you don't get a pop-up when selecting the largest group via the Genre view, you could try the Year view. After that, any new albums could be added to the playlist.

SageMC has an option to play the entire collection, but I can't promise when/if the default STV will have the option.

Random music playback is available as a pasteable dynamic menu item. (as is play random album, and direct links to music/vid library pages)

You will need to install my dynamic menus plugin, then copy/paste that menuitemlet in a suitable place...

I've got my fresh install of v6.3.6b running on both client and server... v6 ROCKS. Much faster/smoother. I also got the latest version of SageMC running as well... sweet...

The only thing I can't seem to be able to do is add a menu option on the main menu to randomly play my entire music library. (This was a WAF request, we have so much music that she can never decide what to put on, she said she would use it ALL the time if there was a way to just randomly play everything...)

So in my search for how to do this, I came across this thread... I couldn't find the referenced SageMC option so I started down the path Nielm suggested...
I pasted the XML code referenced into the dynamic menu options of v6/SageMC, it created the menu option "Random Music Playback", but when you select it you get an error message stating "Error: Unknown Internal Screen "Browser - Music, Playlist Details""

I'm thinking this is because I haven't loaded Nielm's dynamic menus STVi... is that the case? Will loading this screwup my SageMC? I've downloaded the zip for 6.3 and above, but before I attempt to install I just wanted to be sure it wouldn't honk up the sweet setup I have. And also a quick set of instructions on how to install PROPERLY would be nice...

This topic is for using the default STV & that's what nielm's menuitemlet is for, so it won't work in SageMC. You should check the SageMC topic in the customizations forum.

That reminds me: the default STV now has an option to play all songs in the music library, found in the Playlist view of the music browser. After selecting the "Play All Songs" item, there are a few choices for how to play all the music.

I did searchs on the forum you suggest (Customizations - SageMC) and I was only able to find two REQUESTS for a main menu option to randomly play all music, but no responses on how to do it... what am I missing???
