Can MVP play MKV files?
I can't get a single mkv file to play on my MVP. Is the format just not supported by the transcoder? The codecs in my mkv files are H.264 video and AAC audio...

Do they play on your HTPC? If they do, than they should play on your MVP given your HTPC has sufficient power to recode.
I have an Athlon64 4200+ X2 Dual Core and haven't been able to properly play an .mkv file on my MVP (is possible on my HTPC). Shunky video and sound (or black screen). As I had only one .mkv file I recoded it in .avi. => Be aware, this was a while ago and not with latest SageTV release, so it may well have been improved. Jan To recode, read this. Here it's indicated they probably should play via MVP.

Black screen and no sound with every mkv file I have.
It plays fine in WMP and in Sage on the server and clients. Just not on the MVP...
