no dvd in dvd drive

This just started a couple of days ago. I've had Sage a year and it always worked before..

When I put a DVD in the DVD drive and press play DVD on the menu, I get a message that the DVD drive does not contain a DVD.. I know its there...I waited plenty of time until the drive has been recognized...I can exit Sage and play it with another application.

Any ideas?

P.S. I just put a DVD in the drive and checked the Status in the slysoft software and it shows the DVD as present and gives the DVD name..so I know its there and recognized....I then click on play DVD in Sage and it says no DVD found.

It really does take quite some time. Mine takes up to 30 seconds some time. Do yuo have SlySoft software running? This slows things down as the software analysise the disk before it tells the desktop that there is a new disk inserted. Also, I think that there is a property in the sage properties file which contains the DVD drive number. Check that it is correct.

I have waited plenty of time....several minutes just to make sure...I do have slysoft running.

I looked in the properties file and only found 1 reference to DVD..

It says "main_DVD_drive= yes"

I wonder if I need to change something...My DVD drive is the "E:" drive, not the normal "D:" drive....

or maybe I missed something else in the prperties file...it is pretty big...
