MVP picture vs. 480p

I'm considering a way to consolidate a lot of my stuff and try to go client/server. Currently I am running a single desktop box (3400+, NV6200, etc) using the component video output. My TV is an older Toshiba Cinema Series rear projection. The only HD modes it supports are 480p and 1080i. The 1080i is a bit much for the NV6200 so I've been running along fairly happily at 480p.

I'm thinking of moving my computer to a closet and running an MVP to replace it, but I'm concerned that the picture quality will suffer by falling back to using s-video.

Before I plop down the cash on an MVP, I'd like to get some feedback from the folks that might have already done this.

Thanks!

How's the TV look with live, not through Sage, just plane old standard SDTV?

The MVP should look just like that. Most HDTVs will deinterlace 480i, most new ones will scale it.

Go for it

My amateur tests have seen the MVP's s-video output to be superior to the component output of my Nvidia 6600 card. I could never get the brightness and color adjusted quite right on the 6600, but the MVP just works, and it looks as good as SD can look.
