IR blaster macintosh

Does anyone have information on support for an I/R blaster ? Would be nice to be able to change satellite box or cable box channel.

Supposedly, this company(http://twistedmelon.com/mira/hardware.html) is working on making this device work in Sage. I have been emailing back and forth between the the Sage guys and them.

How about the iRed software in conjunction with the IRTrans? I haven't used it but it looks a little like girder for the mac.

USB-UIRT Support

FWIW, USB-UIRT support is coming (it has been slow due to time contraints).

Awesome, thanks for the news. I tried plugging in my USB-UIRT to my MacBook a month or so ago and it did show in the system profiler under the USB device tree.

Any updates on getting the USB-UIRT working with the Mac server?

I've been in the process of getting a Mac Mini set up as my Sage TV server. So far the HD-PVR and the HDHomeruns are recognized, but the USB-UIRT doesn't seem to have a setup option. I was only given the option of DirectTv serial channel changing which won't work for me because I'm using Dish Netork. Anyone have any info?

Thanks,
Kenny

Sage TV support got back to me and said that they don't support the UIRT or any other IR blasters on the Mac at this time. This really limits the usefulness of the Hauppauge HD-PVR unless DirectTV serial control works for you. Hopefully there will be a Sage TV version 7 beta for the Mac soon, that will support the USB-UIRT.

I was looking for an IR blaster for my Sage TV. It is a new knowledge to me that Sage TV does not support any IR blaster and it does not support UIRT as well. For a very long time I had been looking for a proper IR blaster for my Mac. But now there is no use searching for it and now the only way out is to patiently wait for a Sage TV version that will approve an UIRT on Mac.
