No matter what CC doesnt work

Well I've been trying to get this CC stuff to work. no matter what i do, it never works:

I changed the CCinDVD=true in the sage.properties folder

I change the MPEG decoder from SAGE to the power DVD with no success
I recently bought the nvidia purevideo decoder (it does look better, but no CC)
I downloaded and tried to use Caption_Playback112

so far, at best, I get the Caption(off) button when i go to the options screen during the playback of something.

Yes, I am sure CC is transmitted (we watch normal TV this way all the time, my wife is from france)

when I press that button, nothing happens, i do not get the choice of CC1 or CC2.

What the heck is going on?

what driver are you using for the PVR-500? CCinDVD support did not get added until driver version 24201. The included Hauppauge CDs have an older driver version, I think. You can DL the latest driver from Hauppauge at http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/suppo...vr150.html#drv . Its included in CD version 2.7.

YOu've already changed the decoder to a DVD decoder (either power DVD or nVIdia Purevideo), both should work and take care of that part.

You don't need Caption_Playback112 that is mainly for alternate CC support.

There are 2 steps to CC support in Sage. The first is to embed the CC into the MPEG, and the second step is to then display that embedded CC.

So, to troubleshoot this, we need to first see if the CC has been embedded into the MPEG. YOu can use mpg2srt.exe to see if can extract the CC into a txt file. If it doesn't extract any CC, then you don't have the capture portion set right. If it does extract CC, then you have to work on the display side.
