NVidia Post Processing Crashes System

I use the nvidia decoders for video. The copy of the decoders I have came with TheaterTek 2.6. I use Full Screen Exclusive mode. My video card is 8600GTS with the latest drivers.

If I select NVidia Post Processing as my decoder instead of nvidia decoder, Sage crashes as soon as I play something. I can use Post Processing in TheaterTek without a problem. Is this normal? Is there a solution? Thanks.

I had the same problem. Take your system out of Full Screen Exclusive mode, and see if it works. That is what fixed my problems.

Also with that 8600 card you should think about using the NVidia PureVideo decoder, that card is supposed to have some special features to decode better with that encoder.

You don't want to use the nVidia Post Processor anyway, that's a software post processor and disables the hardware PureVideo support in the graphics card.

Thanks. With TheaterTek, I am getting horrible deinterlacing artifacts unless I use post processing, so I thought I would try with Sage also. Glad to hearI don't need it

The nVidia Post Processor is a software decoder, and can't handle HD formats. It will cause a crash if you attempt to use it to play HD.
