HD Extender and USB Wireless N Adapter?

Would the new HD Extender work with this Wireless N adapter?

It can't accept a usb adapter. You will need some sort of ethernet to wireless bridge.

Thanks!

Bummer, though. Hope Sage comes up with a wireless N box, for those of us who don't have the option of running CAT cables.

Not sure how your experience has been with 11n, but mine hasn't been so great. I'm using a Netgear WNR854T with the WN121T (usb) and the performance has been inconsistent (though I did have better luck with the PCI card). Stuttering with HD content has been inconsistent. I've even had stuttering with SD content sometimes and every time I check, I'm still connected at "300Mbps" (which I believe actual max throughput is closer to 25-30Mbps). The main issue is inconsistency, sometimes the show will stutter, sometimes the exact same show won't.

Perhaps other brands are better or maybe you should want for 11n Draft 2.0 products to hit mainstream (they're staring to trickle in) and try those out.

Yup, I think I've tried every channel. And the network density around here is pretty low, too. I tried running only N clients as well. No luck. It's just very inconsistent for me.

i run ATSC (OTA HD) via 802.11 n with no problems. i routinely run one client and one placeshifter (LAN setting, ie no compression) without a single hitch. i have tested, briefly, 3 wireless clients with no problem from anywhere in my 1100 sq ft bi-level apartment. all metal studs, so not the most radiowave-friendly locale.

i use a DLink DIR 655 "N" router with a pair of macbook's as clients. I can sustain about 5-7x the transfer rate that my old WRT54G used to peak at.

The DIR-655 is a very nice router. The new 855 is supposed to be out soon, and it does N on both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands, which is nice since the Intel notebook N hardware likes to run at 5 Ghz...

But if you are look for an N wireless access point/router, the DIR-655 seems to be the way to go now.

What I don't like about the latest D-Link routers is that they started to turn off bridge mode in some of their routers.

I just got an Airport Extreme which I run in bridge mode. No problems with HD playback on my N-equipped Mac's.
