Remote of HD Extender not working

I saw this mentioned in a few other threads, but haven't found a solution there: the shiny new HD extender works fine, except for that the remote that came with it only works until it registers with my Sage server. From this point on, none of the codes of the new remote codes are recognized and mapped (except for On/Off). The older Hauppauge remote works fine.
Any ideas?

nope, there are no ui/rc_mappings in the sage.properties file. I would've been surprised if there had been any, as I never had anything but the stock remote

I would do a reinstall, but how can I preserve the recordings that are present. I don't mind losing the channel setup, but the existing recording I'd like to keep.

Tried running as service as well, same result.

What version of SageTV is installed on the server? It should be v6.3.

What is the date on RemoteClients.properties.defaults? Mine is 11/02/2007.

Check the 'clients' folder for the HD100's properties file & see if it has "ui/rc_mappings/<command_name>=" property lines already for some reason. (It shouldn't, until/unless IR codes have been customized.)
