While I like the dock-style menu, I'm really loving the flexibility the simple Htext menu gives us. I'm really excited to see what kind of themes come out of this one.
Brent, where did you get that first background? I really like it.

Still looking for where I original got it from - it was a great place for animated backgrounds (which don't work in SageTV without a STV mod). But I did find the same background on this flickr set which allows use with attribution.

These are looking good guys! Glad you like the HText. One tip - if you change the theme you will get new color and highlight effect on the text bar.

I've noticed it doing that But how would you specify a diffrent color effect other than the current theme?
I've also noticed the preveiw panel won't sit above the menu graphic which results in a half shown preveiw panel. I've played around with the z-order and display toggle settings but nothing works.
Lastly is it possible to make the HText panel be used for other menus like movies and also have diffrent menu graphics for diffrent menus like movies?

The last few questions are proberly posted in the wrong thread but I thought I'd try here first.

Great work

Regards

Ben

Any easy way to change the font for menus? Would make customizing the Htext menus a bit nicer also.

Can anyone quickly let me know how to run the Htext menu's? (ie, where do I go to select them?) I don't see them under "themes", not really sure where to look for them.

hit ESC, on the main menu, or the options button on your extender remote. Select Customize Screen Layout, Import/Export Layout, Import All.

Matt
First make sure SageMC 6.3.8 is installed
From the main menu hit the options button on your remote, Esc on keyboard or right-click on the mouse - this brings up "Main Menu Options" which is the dynamic menus screen for changing the menu names titles etc. and it also brings up the "customize screen layout".

"Customize Screen Layout" gives you many powerful customization options. The very first one is "menu". Highlight & select "customize" next to menu. You can then toggle through the many different menu types including Htext.

Alternatively as mikejaner mentions above you can import a layout file that you find on these forums.

Got it. I was looking for either a theme or a layout file that I could load.

I've found it now under menu customozation. Thanks.

Changed a few things around since my last attempt and finally settled on the layout shown below. The menu graphic is one nice addition to Sagemc

I've attached the layout if you still want to try it and the image can be got from here http://www.meligrove.com/movie?id=tt0364970 Site supplied by you in a previous post I just added a white line to the top of the image.

Ok, Here is my first attempt with the HText main menu. It is a combination of Mike's Liquid Black theme with my sunset photo in the background.
The background shows up in every menu but the "MY Menu".

Looks pretty awesome Apap!

My only change, might be to move the Htext menu to the black portion of the picture to make it less busy...
