Client Skipping, Stutter, & Quality playback problems

I have the two systems listed in my profile set up. The client was working fine without any issues for about two weeks as far as the playback with dvd's stored on hd and recorded shows. Then one day without changing any settings I had a playback problem, both with dvd's stored on hd & recorded shows. The audio would be fine but the picture quality would stutter and be pixelated at points. I tried to troubleshoot it and it was fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling Client 6.3.5. It worked for about a day. I again starting having the same issues with playback quality.

So far I have changed the configuration in Sage to as many combonations as I could but I am still having problems. I have also tried switching between the aftermarket graphic card and onboard. I have switched out the memory. I even formatted and reinstalled Vista but I am still having issues. I also tried using the previous version I was using which was 6.2.10 but with no luck. Can someone please help me out. I just so frusturated. I would just like it to work. Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention playback on the server plays without any issues. And I am trying to avoid using XP on the client because it is a big pain to install it because of some driver issues with the motherboard and XP.

Edit: I also disabled Aero and Prefetch in Vista.

I ended installing my old motherboard into my client and installing XP. I also upgraded the graphic card to an ATI 512 2600PRO. The video playback quality is better but it is still stuttering. The stutter happens in recordings and imported dvd playback. I read some other threads to use the AVIVO codec from ATI but when I try to tell the client to do so it doesn't come up as an option. Owners of the 26xx grahpic cards where do you get the codec from??
