Nvidia Purevideo vs. Purevideo HD
Can anyone explain to me the advantages of Purevideo HD vs. the regular Purevideo decoder filter running in Sage?
For over a year now I have been using the Nvidia Purevideo decoder filter with great success in playing back my High Definition PS and TS files on a dedicated Sage client using a Nvidia 7600GT card. I recently purchased a Nvidia 8500GT card that now supports Purevideo HD under Win XP with the latest drivers and I wanted to test Purevideo HD vs Purevideo. Can anyone explain to me how to setup Sage to use Purevideo HD running on Win XP? I have used the Radlight filter manager to change Purevideo settings -- how is this accomplished using Purevideo HD? This will be used primarily for the playback of MPEG2 HD files (both from OTA and R5000) MJS |

PureVideo HD is not a decoder/filter; it's a feature set of the drivers (hardware H.264/VC-1/MPEG2 acceleration and post-processing)

If you have the nVidia Purevideo decoder installed then all you would need to do is install the latest nVidia video drivers for your nVidia video card. As GTwannabe said above the latest nVidia video card drivers combined with the hardware capabilities of your video card and the OS you are running (Winodws XP vs. Vista) will decide exacty which capabilities will be used.
