I'm not sure that the hardware of the HD Extender is capable of that format. That would leave it up to the server to transcode it. If that was possible. Would probably be pretty processor-intensive.

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. This sigma part doesn't advertise that capability, though there is another sigma part that is used in BR players that does. I think the BR player that Sage was running on in the Echostar booth had that chip in it.
Maybe the next rev of HD extender would have it. The parts are pretty much pin compatible.
