HD Media Extender and SD TV

Hi all,
All the literature I've found on the HD Media Extender is that you can watch and record HD TV, but I haven't seen anything about SD TV.

Can you watch live standard def. TV and record it as well?

I'm assuming you can, but just wanted some clarification.

Thanks!

Yes, you can. In fact, some people consider it a vast improvement over the normal SD extender.

Thanks a lot.
I have an MVP now, but I'd love to be able to sell my EVA8000 and just have one device that does HD and connectes to Sage.

Just to clarify my original post for any others... my TV is HD, but I want to record SD signals (until I get an HD tuner).

Thanks!

Yes, it upscales SD and displays fine on HD tv. I agree, SD picture is slightly better on HD Extender than MVP. I've never done side by side, but it is noticable (I think)

The MVP looks dark in comparison to the STX-HD100

My MVP used to look dark and overly orange/red compared to my Sage client PC and every other piece of video equipment I own. I sold it. I sure hope the HD extender is better. My two I ordered come next week.

I always though my MVP was fine - until I got the STX-HD100. The difference is night and day.
