HDMI Switch with HD Extender?

Is anyone using an HDMI Switch with the HD Extender? I have a now-vintage plasma that has only one DVI and no HDMI inputs. The HD Extender works well with a HDMI-DVI adapter cable (at 480p), but I also need to run a cable box or other external tuner to the same input (the remote control electronic eye on the plasma went dead years ago, and we are forced to change channels through a separate tuner). A (hopefully inexpensive) remote control HDMI switch would be a good solution, but I would like to know that it will work with the extender and the external tuner before I order one on line. Right now, I am using a Panasonic DMR-EZ27 as the external tuner. I cannot get it to work directly to the DVI port on the old Plasma (I think it may be a handshake issue, because the manual resolution selection options are greyed out, and I think it is sending a signal the DVI port cannot accept), but I am hoping to resolve that with a switch.

I'm using a monoprice hdmi switch. My switch is connected to my projector, using a 50 foot hdmi cable and an hdmi to dvi converter.

I have minor problems with the hd extender forgetting settings if I power it down. But I also have it connected with component, so I switch to component to set it back up and then switch to hdmi to use it.

I haven't spent any real time trying to troubleshoot that yet.

I'm using the new 1.3 compatible monoprice 4x1 hdmi switch connected a sony RPTV.
I've had absolutely no problems.
