Volume control for MKV files in Sage

When playing MKV files in Sage (6.3.10) how do I make Sage control the volume? MKV files will play at "Windows volume" not "Sage volume". I keep my Windows volume at 75%

Windows Vista Ultimate SP1

Thanks.

Try changing this setting in your sage.properties file. It worked for me in Vista (SP1).

media_player_uses_system_volume=false

When set to True the volume only works on recorded shows, imported videos had no volume control via my Hauppauge remote.

Please ignore my previous post, well sort of.
Changing the following setting did give me volume control for imported videos but then you have no volume control for recorded videos.

media_player_uses_system_volume=false

I'm going to continue to look at other settings. If anyone has a definate answer to this isssue please post it here.

Thanks, Bill, for your help.

For me that didn't change anything. I did make sure the service was stopped before I saved the change but even after a reboot nothing changed. Still loud volume from Windows and not controllable from within Sage.
