Extender turns off...

I notice sometimes that my HD100 has only the red light lite up and the green light is out....when I use the remote to turn the TV on, it also seems to "wake up" the HD100 and the green light comes on and it boots up.

Thus, I think I may be putting it to sleep or something when I turn the TV off. Could the TV off remote code also put the HD100 to sleep or something?

Any idea?

Thanks,

Gary Ellis

I've seen this happen overnight AND in the middle of watching TV w/o touching any remotes.

If, by some chance, the remote used the same IR codes as the HD100, then sure it would be possible. You could try pressing the TV remote buttons a few times to confirm whether the HD100 responds. Someone else had the opposite problem where the HD100 remote was causing the TV to react -- the TV's remote didn't actually use the same codes, but the TV responded to the HD100's remote anyway.

Mine tends to do the same thing. It turns itself off after a few days of no use. I assumed this was a "feature" to turn the unit off after X hours of no use.

Same here. HD100 appears to turn off (red light only on) after a period of prolonged inactivity. I don't think it's sensing other remote IR codes; it's on when I leave the room for the night, and sometimes will be off when no one has touched any remote. Not a big deal, in the grand scheme.

cheers,
dave

If the Sage server it connects to gets restarted or rebooted the HD Extender will also just turn off and is left with just the red light on. Make sure that isn't the situation you have. I don't know if that's normal behavior but that it what I have observed.

My two turn themselves off consistently but not on a regular time interval. It is very annoying since I set up my Harmony to expect it to be on all the time (to avoid boot up time).

I think this is a bug since they mostly turn themselves off at night.

On the other hand I spray for bugs, so maybe its Gremlins from the Kremlin.

Anyone figure this problem out? Mine shuts off almost every night and most of the time I have to unplug it to get it back on line.
