SageMC Guide Doesn't Display

Using SageTV 3.10 and SageMC 6.3.7.a, and the CenterSage Theme using 2 x PVR-150's and 1 x PVR-500 with an MCE Remote

Problem I'm having is when pressing the Guide button on my remote the guide flash's on screen and then immediately go's back to whatever menu I was on. I can go to MY TV and then select Guide, change channel's, browse etc. If I change back to the default Sage STV the guide button works a-ok.

I've uninstalled SageTV and deleted the whole SageTV dir and it still happens after a re-install.

Any ideas?

Also, for the WAF, is there a way of simplifying the screen that comes up when you add a favourite (reducing the options displayed)? I like the nice simple screen with the default STV.

Last thing, the remote seems rather sensitive when using SageMCE, it's very easy to press select or go past a menu option. This also doesn't happen with the default SageTV.

P.S. Am coming back to SageTV after being away about 2 yrs, so not a total noobie...but almost!

You probably have the Guide Toggle option enabled and your remote is sending double commands with each press. The resulting actions would be Guide and then Back. The solution is to increase the infrared delays in your properties file. I don't recall the exact property names, but they start with 'i' in the sage.properties file. You should be able to find them from there. Bump up the delays to 500 ms and if they work, you can back them off from there. Don't forget to stop sage before editing the file or the changes won't take.

Aloha,
Mike

Is this guide toggle option something I would have / could have changed in the options/setup?

Try:

Settings >> SageMC >> Main >> Screen Specific Options >> EPG >> Guide Toggle: Disabled

Aloha,
Mike

I just starting experiencing this issue. Went into the menu & made the recommended change, now I get the guide, but only for the specific channel that Sage is tuned to??

My issue appears to be the repeat setting. I noticed today that when I press the Guide button, it flashes, then shows the guide for whatever channel it's tuned to, then if I push the back button, it goes to the actual guide! What strange behavior.

Try playing with these settings in your sage.properties (or sageclient.properties) file

Code:
infrared_receive_repeat_delay=250
infrared_receive_repeat_delay_rc5=350
infrared_receive_repeat_period=120
The values are in milliseconds. Try increasing them until the problem goes away. It will take some trial and error. And remember to shut down SageTV before making any changes or they won't take.

Aloha,
Mike
