Support for MCE remote?
A few months ago, it was mentioned in this forum that it would be *possible* to add support for the MCE remote control to the HD100. Has there been any recent word if this support is going to be added any time soon?

I haven't seen anything further on this. You can use an MCE remote for most functions if you teach it the buttons. The problem, though, is the RC5 protocol isn't learned very well. My suggestion for an inexpensive replacement is the URC-6131n. You can have the MVP codes added to the remote by the manufacturer as described here: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29124

I would also like to see support for the MCE remote. Any chance of this happening?

I would like to see support for the MCE Remotes, but also the USB port
then I could add a USB-UIRT although that might be kind of ugly considering where they put those ports... |

If they add MCE remote functionality I will buy another HD100 for my bedroom.

Out of curiosity, why do you guys want MCE remotes for your HD100? Am I missing something?

Three reasons:
1) The button layout is excellent. 2) It is inexpensive. 3) If your playback system just consists of a TV and a HD100, it is the only remote you'd need. |

Does the MCE remote control the TV (not just the extender) also?

You can program a button to turn on/off the tv, and you can program the volume up/down to control another device (tv or receiver).

Then I agree this would be a great addition to the HD100 - especially if it wouldn't take too much work from SageTV...

I agree 100%! the mce remote would be a great addition. However, I beleive someone has mentioned that the hd100 reads rc5 not rc6 commands. I am not sure if this is a hardware issue or a software issue. If it is a hardware issue then the mce remotes will never be supported unless they add USB-UIRT support on the Extenders.
