Another encoder_merit thread.... w/o HD!

There appear to be several tuner priority threads related to recording shows in HD vs. SD but I didn't find anything that covered this particular issue.

I have both an HD PVR and a WinTV PVR card that are both configured to tune the same analog channels (among others). I would like the WinTV card to be used whenever the tuners overlap.

I have set Sage.PROPERTIES with the following encoder_merit defs:

mmc/encoders/-431556906/encoder_merit=0
mmc/encoders/-431556906/video_capture_device_name=Hauppauge HD PVR Capture Device

mmc/encoders/1642691032/encoder_merit=6
mmc/encoders/1642691032/video_capture_device_name=Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture

mmc/encoders/1437334513/encoder_merit=9
mmc/encoders/1437334513/video_capture_device_name=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 101405A3-0

mmc/encoders/1437334514/encoder_merit=9
mmc/encoders/1437334514/video_capture_device_name=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 101405A3-1

The priority settings didn't help. When Sage records, for example CNN on analog cable channel 56 it uses the HD PVR rather than the WinTV card. The same problem happens when I watch "Live TV"; Sage goes straight for the HD PVR.

I've check to make sure that the WinTV is working properly (it is) and that Sage.PROPERTIES was updated when the Sage service was disabled.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why not setup the HD-PVR with a different guide so that you don't have overlapping stations? There is usually a digital version of the analog stations that you can use to record those shows on the HD-PVR if need be.
