Headphones with STX-HD100

Maybe I am blind but I dont see a headphone jack anywhere on the STX-HD100. Also, my TV does not have a headphone jack.

Looking for a solution so I can watch TV in bed late at night without disturbing the wife.

Any ideas?

Perhaps something like this may work connected to the rear analogue phono outs:-

You'd need to get some kind of headphone amplifier since the line-out provided by the HD100 is not going to be able to power headphones to a loud enough volume.

If you used wireless TV headphones (and the RCA-to-headphone-jack suggestion above), typically the wireless headphones have a volume control on them. Couldn't you just turn it up? (or do the headphone volume knobs generally just let you turn it down?) Might depend on the headphone model....

I'm not sure if wireless headphones have an amp that's expecting a line level input. I've never used them before. That cable by itself would not work for regular headphones though. Not enough power on the output.

I had another thought on this issue.

What about if I were to buy some type of amp or something like that? Would that have a headphone jack?

Any recommendations on what I might need? I dont know ANYTHING about amps or digital audio, etc. I am just looking to get higher quality sound out of my HD100 AND also have the option to use headphones.

Thanks!

A small headphone amplifier should work.

I'm looking into this as well. But would it be better to run headphones straight from the HD-100 or would I be better off running the HD-100 to my 5.1 surround sound speakers via Optical cable and running the headphones off of that?

Easier for sure. And your receiver probably already has a headphone jack. I would expect better sound quality but would also be dependant on the headphones.

Would be nice to run a set of USB headphones right off the unit.

Heh. There's a lot of things that would be nice to do with those USB ports....
