Pleasant experience obtaining new Hauppauge MVP

Ordered MVP #2 from NewEgg Sunday evening.
Received Tuesday via UPS
Purchased another license from Sage, on-line. Received immediately by email.

Are the ones from Newegg the new revision? I heard the older ones over heated.

I think you're thinking HD PVR, not MVP.

But yes of all the MVPs I have gotten from Newegg all have been the newer version.

(The old ones don't connect as well, no SPDIF out, and older IR remote. They don't overheat though.)

what defines a "new" one?
Serial number?
MAC address?

do the "new" ones have an increased video output amplitude?
