This should be an easy answer, I have the SageMC interface loaded and want to convert VOB files to an format that is watchable on my iphone. Is there a decent how to thread that I am missing?

I'm pretty sure Sage will transcode it's own recordings but it's not going to do anything with DVD .vob files. You'll need an external program to do that.

Are they VIDEO_TS folders or just standalone .vob's?

I'm working on a tool for SageMC that does this, but its not quite ready yet. In the meantime, If you haven't already, check out Handbrake. It's main purpose is to convert DVD's to portable devices.

I have heard of handbrake, I was just hoping for something the wife could use from the extender. Is your new software going to work from an extender with the WHS version of sage?

Or you could use VideoReDo to combine the VOBs into one big MPG (imported video) and then convert the MPG to whatever you wanted to in Sage. This still is not an "all in Sage" solution but it works well.
