External viewer for only certain extensions?

Is there a way to specify an external app to launch for some file types?

For example, if .foo files don't play in Sage, I want to open them with Media Player Classic or VLC.

I see in SageMC's options there is a way to specify an external app for all non-DVD files, but that's overkill for my situation.
