Strange Music Library Problem (may be DVDPro2Sage problem)

I'm having an issue where if a song name is the same as the title of a Movie in my Video Library it will have the wrong artist listed. It's like it's disregarding the music tags and using the metadata from the movie (maybe DVD Profiler) instead. An example is Disturbing Behavior from Robert Palmer's Heavy Nova album. I have the movie Disturbing Behavior in my Video Library and it's listing the artist on the song as "Natassia Malthe (Mary Jo Copeland)" and not "Robert Palmer" as it should be.

I was wondering why some of the albums in my Music Library were showing up as "Various" instead of the actual album artists. For these albums I went through and specified the artist in the album artist tag and then I noticed this. Any ideas?

It's important to understand that DVDPro2Sage just provides the API to extract data out of the collection.xml. It's the STV that actually uses that information and writes the meta-data into the wiz.bin. I'm really not sure I know what is happening here.

Well, then something in SageMC is doing DVD Profiler import lookups for music as well as video.

Just out of curiosity, do you specify your music directory as a music only folder or is it specified as music, video, and pictures?

Ok, just for giggles I separated out the videos into it's own media import and the music import is now for music only. I removed the music from being an import and forced a full media scan, which should remove data from anything that it doesn't find. I then re-added the music import back and did another media scan. SageMC is still tagging music with DVD Profiler data.

Sounds like a bug with SageMC treating music as video and attempting to auto-import DVD profiler. Mike or Dirk will have to look into this one.

A workaround may be to import videos first, import DVD profiler information. Turn off the auto-import feature, then import your music.
