music files don't play

When I enter Media Center and try to play an mp3 nothing happens. The time indicator will jump all the way to the end of the song but no sound at all.

Any ideas?

Yes. Try increasing the volume in SageTV specifically while playing music.

I have an issue at home where if I have a playback error, the volume in the music area is going back to none so I don't hear anything while everything else seems fine. The issue is not seen for video or TV so it may look like everything else is working except music even if it's not the case (at least, that's my situation).

the problem I have is that the file doesn't play. All I see is the time meter of each song jump from 0 to the end of the song immediately.
