DVD Profiler Genre and Image Help

I am redoing my DVDs from scratch.

I was using DVDShrink and IMDB

Now I am using Handbrake and DVD Profiler

I have everything working right except for Genres and Images.

When I Try to import DVD Profiler Information for DVDs wheteher in the mass import or DVD by DVD, I get Unknown for both genres and The only image is of the opening scene of the MKV file.

My Paths are both pointing to the DVD Profiler/Databases/Default

My Collection.xml is in that folder

My DVD storage looks like this

--DVD's
--DVD's
--Sweeny Todd
--Sweeny Todd.mkv
--300
--300.mkv
--Kid's DVD's
--Spongbob Squarpants
--Spongbob Sqaurepants.mkv

I have a couple multiple Disk DVD's as well, but I need to figure out the single disk ones first.

Thanks

I did a little tutorial on setting up DVD Profiler and SageMC in this article.

Hopefully that will answer all of your questions, but if not let me know.

No, ignore the file format for the moment. I'm assuming you can play back .mkv files in SageTV just fine right? If so it should be irrelevant to the dvdprofiler process.

The key is with the directory locations and such for getting the images and meta details imported into SageTV.

Ok..

This is my format

DVD import Folders-
M:\DVDs\DVD's
M:\DVDs\Kid's DVD's

File Format-
Sweeny Todd.mkv

DVD Profiler Collection.xml location-
J:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default

SageMC Paths-
Other Programs: J:\Temp
Offline Path: J:\Temp
Meta Data XML: J:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default\collection.xml
DVD Profiler Path: J:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default\

As far as naming folders, The only way I could get SageMC to find the information was to make sure the name of the movie directory matched the name of the Original Title from DVD Profiler. Is that correct as well?

DVD Tilte: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Sort Title: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Original Title: Sweeny Todd

Yes you need to match your movie title name to the title in DVD Profiler. In this case remove the : from the title

So is it importing both image and metadata now?

Ok so I figured out the Cover art issue.

But still no Genre data is comin through.

It has it defined in DVD Profiler.

And I checked all boxes in the export.

But when I update Video info using DVD Profiler it says:

Category: Untitled
Subcategory: Untitled

All other data is populated.

Are you getting all the other movie details other than the genre? Such as summary etc like this:

Any thoughts on this? I could enter Genres manually, but I believe if I ever refresh DVD Profiler its gonna strip them away right?

Wow, this is a tough one to figure out... Here's a few more questions:

What is the version number of DVD Profiler you are using?

Are you sure you're getting the details and stuff imported from DVD Profiler and NOT the genres? Check to be sure the details on the SageMC movie screen and see if the description and such match what is in DVD Profiler exactly. I wonder if somehow you've imported from IMDB instead or something.

Are you getting the cover images? I didn't see those on your screen-shot.

I'm hoping to get some help from others in the know as I'm running out of ideas.

Are you running DVD Profiler 3.5? There is a problem with a format change in how the collection.xml is created. This thread documents the issue and has the solution.

Just so I understand here.

Can you not use the latest version of DVDProfiler? Or is that link to a fix so you can use the latest version of DVDProfiler?

The link he provided gave me an updated DVDPro2Sage.class file which has the fixed code to DVD Profiler 3.5's new xml.

Has nothing to do with VideoRedo

Understood. I was working on VideoRedo at the time and had a brainfart... meant to say DVD Profiler, but you answered my question regardless. Thanks

I hope this thread hasn't died!

I am having almost the same problem as listed here.

I have updated the JAVA Class file and now I get all my Genre information as well as all the DVD specific info from the DVD Profiler XML Export.

But no matter what I do, I cannot get DVD images on the client, extender, or placeshifter!

I have the PATH pointing to the "default" directory. I'm using the latest DVD Profiler, so the structure I'm pointing to is the one from the "My Documents" area where the images are now kept.

I've tried the "kill it and reset it" approach. I am using Sage for WHS 6.5.5 beta (since I have an HD 200) and the standard SageMC setup.

Any help would be great as this and a flaking place-shifter are my only issues at the moment!

-Mike
