HD-200 Unloads SageTV on Server
I run my server with SageTV in full screen at startup (not in service mode). I have no keyboard, mouse or IR receivers attached to my server.
I have had this happen twice now: I finish watching a recording on the HD200 and return to the main menu. I power down the HD200 and switch my tv to the Sat receiver to watch the first few minutes of local news. I switch the TV back to the HD200 and power it on. I go to SageTV Servers and get the message that connection to server can't be made. I get up and go to room where server is and switch on monitor. Sage TV is no longer running, it stopped about 5 or 6 minutes into the two recordings it was making. I hook up my mouse, doubleclick on the SageTV icon, SageTV loads, I go to the guide and restart my recordings. I go back to my TV and with remote select refresh and press ok. Connection is reestablished and I have function again. I lost the 5 or so minutes it took me to get SageTV back up on the server. The first 5 or 6 minutes of the shows that were recording when Sage shut down are there as a seperate -0.mpg and -0.ts and can be watched with the -1.mpg and -1.ts. It's as if I exited Sage manually on the server. I am running SageMC on both the server and the HD200 and the HD200 has the Beta firmware release. I'll revert to SageTV tomorrow and see if I can recreate this and report the bug if I can. Anyone else seeing this?

Hi Helen,
I'm not having your problem but I wondered why you were running Sage in full screen mode on the server, with no mouse/keyboard? I'm running my server with no mouse/keyboard or monitor. I simply use a Remote Connection over the lan to administer the server. I don't run the Sage UI on the server at all. Just the sage service. Enable the sage service, then start it. Close the sage service aplet. Then log off. Running this way, I've never had the kind of problem you are having. Good luck. I hope this helps. |

I was running in service mode until a few months ago. I had some issues with the two HD PVRs in service mode that I did not have when I ran SageTV in standard mode. Of course that was several software upgrades ago and several HD PVR driver updates ago so I will try service mode again.
Even if that avoids the issue though, I am curious as to why it is happening.

Your debug logs should say why it's exiting. If not, look for a Java crashdump file.
