My Pictures names showing in My Music

I upgraded to the latest releases of SageTV and SageMC and now My Music is listing the names of images in My Photos. I've deleted all the music and photo shares, rescanned for new media, and added the shares back in varying sequences and the result is always the same once all shares are added: photo names show up as music thumbnails. I've seen this before and the previous steps have fixed it in the past. Does what I described cause the database to be wiped and recreated from scratch? If not, is there a way to force the database to do so?

I'm using a client/server setup on Windows XP (32-bit).

Any suggestions are quite appreciated!

No one else has seen this and knows the cause?

Additionally, I've tried renaming both the music folder and the pictures folder and rescanned after one, the other and both. Absolutely no change. If I add just the music, everything is good. If I add just the pictures, everything is good. As soon as I add the other, I get a large number of "blank" thumbnails, each with a description from a picture's filename.

All I can suggest is to post a debug log file. I've never seen or heard of this happening, so I don't really know what to tell you at this point.

Aloha,
Mike

Are you sure you have the import directories set right? There are checkboxes for what type of media is contained in the import directory. Music, photos or Video.

@MeInMaui: Here you go.

@gplasky: Definitely. I've deleted and re-added the pictures and music folders many times and I always ensure they're set correctly. For this debug log, I didn't go into the Advanced area to add the folder, but did a right-click in the Pictures menu and specified the UNC path there. Previously, I've done this using both methods with the same result.

EDIT: So you don't get sidetracked by any rendering issues in the debug log, I was remotely logged into the client via WHS when I was running this debug, so the computer's resolution was turned down.

Try disabling your Album Art Cache in Settings >> SageMC >> Enhancements >> 'Cache Album Art' and 'Load Album Art Cache At Startup'.

That might help narrow it down.

Aloha,
Mike

I disabled both of those options, then removed both paths and shutdown Sage. I restarted to ensure nothing showed up in either My Pictures or My Music. Then, I shutdown Sage and turned on the debugging and restarted Sage. I added the music path and waited for some music to appear after the background scan had started, then I added the pictures path. Once some photos showed up, I went back to My Music and saw the blank photo thumbnails again.

Let me know if you want me to follow a different procedure, since the above produced a 4MB file and a 9MB file, which I'm sure you don't want to go through, but I've attached, just in case.

What happens when you run the default STV?

Aloha,

Works perfectly. No blank thumbnails in My Music. I even tried multiple views to see if any of them might cause the issue to appear.

Not trying to be pushy, Mike. Just checking in to see if you had a chance to take a look or if there's anything else I can provide for you to troubleshoot.

Ok, try this.

Remove the shares that contain your pictures and music. Then create new empty shares with the same names and do a library import. This should let Sage see that your old files are no longer there and it should clear them out of the database. Once you have done this, then remove the empty shares and add the music share (set to only import music) and the photo share set to only import photos. You can add these one at a time if you like just to make sure each step works. Let me know how it goes.

BTW, your second posted set of log files were loaded with DVDPro2Sage errors. This is because you entered the 'Library Import View' screen (which is exclusively for DVD Profiler import data) without having a valid DVD Profiler collection.xml file defined.

Aloha,
Mike

Thanks, Mike. I'll give this a shot tonight.

Sorry about the DVDPro2Sage stuff.
