Taddeusz, I have had the exact same experience. The fant art files in the centralized Music and TV folder load correctly, but I cannot get any fan art to load for imported videos from the centralized movie folder. Could it be a problem that the fan art background in the centralized folder has the exact same name as the cover art in the imported folder?

Try this modified STV and post your debug log file. Thanks.

Aloha,
Mike

That's interesting. It is looking for 'Movies0-FA Knight's Tale.jpg', which is what you get after stripping out all of the '\' characters from the file path. I'll have to look into the code to see why this is happening. Maybe the SageTV core is including the path under the import directory in the AiringTitle.

Aloha,
Mike

Mike,

Can you include the debug option in your next release activated by a properties setting?

TIA

That shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone who is having issues with fan art backgrounds not loading, please try the attached version and let me know how it goes. Thanks.

Aloha,
Mike

OK, tried this one, and it doesn't work for either TV or movies now. The original worked for TV but not movies.

Looking at the log files, I get this.

For TV. Its looking for a trundicated filename, the first 4 letters of the show name is missing. Same applies to "private practice" and "law & order"

I was able to add the space in the .jpg file to get it to work. OK, nevermind, aparantly all my movie .properties files have an extra space appended to the title of the movie. I just did a rescan of the video with that space removed from the back of the title property and it works fine for both the debug2.xml and the original .xml for movies now.

OK, now it doesn't work again in the debug2.xml. every time I move the files and rescan, I get a different result.

I get this now,

OK, even going back to the original. xml file, sometimes movies work, sometimes they don't. But in the mean time, I need to see what is up with the IMDB batch importer and why it appends the space in the title.

I have a similar issue which the latest debug version also doesn't help.

I have DVD's stored in \\server\x\videos, and the fan art shows up just fine.
I took some movies I recorded out of the TV recording directory at \\server\x\tv and moved it to \\server\x\videos. I then went through and put each movie in it's own folder, like the DVD rips etc.. I then did the IMDB thing to get the cover art, and put appropriate fanart in the fan art directory like the DVD movies. I still don't see fan art for the TV recordings, but the DVD's show up fine. Also they show up in the recordings as archived tv still, and the menus when using the movie info plugin are a little different from when i look at a DVD.
Can you help me understand what's going on?

Here's my folder structure for example.

Fanart:
c:\program files\sagetv\sagetv\stvs\sagetv3\sagemce\mediabackgrounds\*.jpg

Ripped DVD:
\\server\x\videos\Tropic Thunder\Video_TS\*

Recorded Movie:
\\server\x\videos\The Cell\the cell.ts

Hi Mike,

A log file would really help so I can see what it is looking for. Thanks.

This may be a little more informative. I first loaded a good one with Hulk, from a DVD rip, then loaded one where it doesn't work with a recording of Jarhead.

Hey Mike,

Can you try just loading up the debug3 STV without any imports? Do the backgrounds show up in the normal program info screen? If not, please post another log file. The import might have screwed up the new code additions. Thanks.

Aloha,
Mike

Here you go. Its the same log with the changes to SageMCE and the debug plugin loaded at the end.

Now I don't get any background fan art at all, even with the debug plugin loaded. I thought only the Movie Info Screen plugin enabled background art.

Nevermind: Excuse my ignorance. I found the option in settings. Loading up a new log file...

Did you enable background art under SageMC options?

Settings >> SageMC >> Global UI Options >> Display >> Media Based Backgrounds

K, finally what you wanted. Same thing Hulk(DVD) Loads the background, and Jarhead(Recording in same video folder) doesn't.

Mike,

I still don't see any of my debug code being executed. Are your sure you are running the correct STV? Check in the Settings screen. It should be SageMC_169_fanart_debug3.xml.

Aloha,
Mike
