Recommend a good Universal Remote
Can anyone recommend a good Universal Remote?
With my purchase of the HD200, my main TV is finally going "serverless." I used to run the Sage server directly into the TV, but now I will just have the HD200. Only catch is, I used to run Girder with a USBURIT to control everything from the Sage server (the Sage remote would turn on the TV, turn on the Amp, change the inputs correctly, set inputs to Playstation 3, etc). But now I can't use that and I need a new Univ Remote. I have tried the Logitiech Harmoney 550. YUK! there is a substatial delay when pressing the button as compared to using the HD200's remote. Ideally, I'd love something like the old Philips Pronto where you can edit everything the remote does. Certainly I want full macro capabilities and the ability to program all the buttons' functions individually. Anyone have any ideas, especially if they're using it themselves? Thanks! Stacy |

I have a URC (Universal Remote Control) similar to this one http://www.universalremote.com/produ...l.php?model=98. Really just an earlier version. They are not as easy to set up as the Logitec remotes, but are much more flexible.
They make a range of remotes covering about every price point, and you can find the more advanced professional versions online. The pro versions offer PC program-ability, which makes thing easier to set up.

How does programming the 980 go? Ever tried a Harmony (curious if you had the same thoughts on it as I do)? |
