Don't show Live TV shows in "Recent Recordings"

I took the plunge and went "All Sage, All the Time" on 4 TVs in my house using a server and HD extenders. Before this, I ony had Sage running on one TV hooked to my server. I am using SageMC (close to most recent version (maybe a week or two old)).

One thing that I immediately notice that is annoying is that now my "Recent Recordings" list is full of stuff that my family members have watched on other TVs (or just "flicked" by for that matter). I understand that every show you watch is recorded, and I do see a little merit in keeping these recordings for some "short" period of time.

Is there a way to have Live TV shows (i.e., shows that no one actually set to record but just watched) NOT show up in the Recent Recordings or Recorded TV lists? Or a way to filter them out of these lists at least? I feel like Sage used to get rid of these "Live" shows really quickly after I stopped watching them, but it deosn't seem to be happening now. Is it possible that I had some setting checked on my server and now I need to change a setting on my extenders to have them do this?

Finally, I tried searching, but there are just too many irrelevant hits when you search for "watched" (i.e. don't show shows I merely watched vs. recorded) and "remove" or "delete" (as in remove or delete shows I merely watched vs recorded when I stop watching them).

Thanks for your help.

Willie

OK, I don't normally reply to myself, but I take it that SageMC works this way for all of you, too, and it doesn't bother anyone else? Thanks.

It works that way in the default STV also. A recording is a recording and Sage can't tell the difference in how it is being watched.

At first it bugged me also but now it's ok. Actually, lets me know what other people in the house is watching.

Do they disappear after they stop watching live tv? There is a setting that lets you either keep them or discard them after viewing but while watching it will show up in the recent recording.

No, they do not disappear -- although what I was trying to say in my original post was that before I started using HD extenders I thought I remembered them disappearing after you stopped watching them. Could I bother you to point me to the setting? Is it the delete-on-non-intelligent-recordings or something setting? I actually don't mind them showing up as recordings while people are watching them. The annoying part is just when I come home and discover someone turned off the tv in the morning but left an extender or two going all day that results in me having to scroll down and delete 22 programs before I can get to any REAL recorded shows...

Thanks again for your replies guys.

Try Page 247

Also, someone made an add-on to turn off extenders at a curtain time. That may also help. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: I cannot find the script which someone wrote.

I think you are looking for Dirk's Sleep Timer plugin.

Aloha,

Thanks to you both. Obviously p. 247 is just what I needed. Next time I will RTFM. the timer looks like it could come in really handy, too.
