HD200 comments after installing 3

I just installed three HD200 and they are great but there were a couple "surprises"....

1. Using an older RPTV(65" CRT, 1080i, HDMI via DVI) doesn't work using the HDMI out to a DVI in. I get a "No source" message on the TV. I contacted support about this so we will see.

2. The HD200 remote. Common sense, but I didn't think about it until we started using it. The remote can't turn your TV on/off and it can't control the TV's volume. I'll have to look for good deals on a Harmony remote. Bad side to that is then I have to teach SageTV those codes manually, for each HD200.

You don't have to teach SageTV any Harmony codes. The Harmony setup just needs you to add SageTV as a device and it automatically "knows" the proper codes. It's a great solution.

I have four HD-200s but I don't want Sage to spend any extra money on a better remote as it is a waste as I have Harmonys for all of my TVs that have more than one source.

I've searched but I couldn't find anything for SageTV. What device type and what model number did you use?

I agree. All 3 of mine have multiple sources(TV/Bluray, TV/Wii, TV/DVD) and I will eventually migrate over to Harmony remotes. It's just easier to push a button and have everything change to the right inputs. (But right now my wife would kill me if I spend $150+ on remotes. I just spent $600 on the HD200s. )

Update: Link to the Harmony device name: http://forums.sage.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=38938

I use a Harmony 880 in one of my rooms. In the harmony setup, search for STX-HD100 (or something similar) or search for SageTV. I know it's in there as I've run that setup several times.

EDIT:
Quote:
Device = Media Center PC; Manufacturer=Sagetv; Model= STX-HD100
Device = Media Center PC; Manufacturer=Sagetv; Model= STP-HD200
EDIT2: Opus4 just beat me to the punch... In the Harmony setup, search for the above device and add it as a device.

The hardware forum's sticky for remote-related info lists that:
