adjust effect of comskip markings

I've searched and had no luck.

Comskip is installed and processes everything pretty well.

However, occasionally (often enough to be annoying) comskip marks in my edl files trigger a comskip a second or so early and come back to the show a second or so late.

I'd rather see one or two seconds of the start of the first commercial during a break and one or two seconds of the end of the commercial at the end of the break rather then wonder if i've missed 1 second (or none) or 5 or 10 seconds of my show. Seeing a second of the commercial takes away all doubt.

So, is there any way in SageMC to do this? I see in the comskip Options area a start delay and stop delay setting. Do these do this by any chance (I doubt it, more likely they are for launching the execution of comskip analysis?) If they do, do what I want, please let me know the right way to fill them in.

Such as

1 and 1 would start the skip 1 second late and stop it 1 second early or ???

Thanks very much.

Those are the settings, specify time in ms so 1s = 1000ms
so change it to
start 1000
and
stop -1000

While this works it messes with the way skipping works when you try to go back to the start of the commercial segment when the commercial block is not marked right. Normally this would cancel the commercial segment and play this specific block but with the delay set it skips it again so you are forced to disable skipping in this instance. This might be bug in SageMC.
So a better way would be to pad the EDL files but I am not sure that is possible.

Simpler is to set in comskip.ini
padding=2
This will cause the commercial start market to be generated 2 seconds after the actual determined start and the end marker in the edl file to be 2 seconds before the determined end.
