HD PVR/Hauppauge IR Blast

I've been evaluating SageTV with a HD PVR. I only use it to record shows, not watch live tv. When I initially set it up, it was working fine. However, after a while it was changing the channel only intermittently, then it stopped changing the channel at all. I played around with the Hauppauge Blast program and I think the IR transmitter was slightly out of place - now I can use Hauppauge Blast to change the channels consistently. The problem is that SageTV still doesn't change the channel. If I tell it to record a show, the red light on the IR transmitter never flashes. I deleted the source and added it back in, making sure the Hauppauge IR Blaster was selected, but it is still not working. Can a Sage guru please suggest something to try to fix this? Thanks

Uninstall and reinstall the Sage software (don't delete the Sage folder however). It won't effect your settings, favorites, etc as they are saved in the sage files. But for some reason Sage needs to be set up last (after IR blaster, etc). I bet this helps clear up your problem as I had similar experiences.

I found out this computer had a firewire port and was able to get that to work. Much happier with firewire anyways. I had tried it before with a different (but same model) STB and it didn't work, thought I'd give it another try and I'm glad I did. Coughed up the dough for Sage.

Thanks for the advice though!
