Depends on the channel, the version of Show Analyzer (SA), and what your R5000 is in. Most of the HD channels on Dish Network are MPEG4, so you'd need the private beta of SA (which didn't work very well last I checked) or the donation version of Comskip (which is what I use right now).

All Dish SD channels are in MPEG2, so any version of SA or Comskip will work fine.

If you're using SageMC check some of the video's info (info button on recording info screen) to see if it's MPEG2 or 4.

I have to have multi processing

I am a paid comskip but it is not as accurate or fast but if I have to I can switch

I'm using dirmon2 to kick off the donation version of comskip. I've kinda-sorta been mucking with SJQ in the background, but haven't gotten it working yet.

Non-beta SA won't work for MPEG4 channels, so you'd be pretty much stuck with SD only that way.

What about writing ts files with the r5000 box? that way I could use dirmon to kick of show analyzer for recordings made with my hdhomeruns and comskip for the ts files anyone tried that?

Also what are your setting in diremon for multiple process do you just allow 50% per process?

Dirmon2 lets you setup a global "resource" pool, and then you can specify how many resouces each job costs. So I make sure my job cost is half my resource pool if I want two concurrent comskip processes. I think I actually have it set to three right now, not entirely sure.

Doing the ts file trick should work, I have my R5000 configured that way right now even though I'm not doing that.
