New beta fanart no longer fills 16x9

The new beta works great except the fanart no longer fills my entire 16x9 screen using hd200.

It leaves my themes background pic barred around the outside of the fanart in video tab and when using AMIG addi-in.

Anyone else seeing this?

In playing with it more the recordedtv fanart doesn't fill the screen either but if you use tvinfo app the fanart enlarges and fills the screen when you go to tvinfo

I am think this is definately a bug in sagemc.9 as I revert to 8 and the fanart fills the screen (of course it is the old fanart system which I don't want

I'm looking into this, but so far I have not been able to reproduce the problem. Does this happen for all fanart, or is it for just low-res images?

Aloha,
Mike

I've actually just this minute been able to reproduce the exact same issue with one of my HD100 extenders. It affects SageMC after a clean install and also AMIS. It doesn't affect TVIS which is even stranger as it uses the same copied code from AMIS. So far it doesn't affect my other HD100, HD200 or PC client, so I'm still thinking its an overscan issue. It does look like an overscan issue but if you say you've reverted back to a previous install of SageMC and it works ok then I dont see how it could be overscan as it would've kept those properties settings, unless you did a full reinstall and removed the previous install.

I just double checked the image settings for fanart backgrounds and they are set to use the full screen and resize the image to fit. That's everything I have available to me to adjust the images, so there must be something else going on here.

Aloha,
Mike

Yea, same as me. However just out of curiosity I changed my image widget to 100% x 100% and unchecked the resize image to fit. This seems to resolve the issue on the dodgy extender. I've sent Plucky and babgvant a tester version to see if this fixes the issue. It does have a side effect in that not all images will fill the screen correctly.

I just tried something else, but I can't test it right now. Can you guys try the attached version and let me know if it makes any difference? Thanks.

Aloha,
Mike

Edit: File Removed. See the SageMC pre-release thread.

I have seen the same issue with AMIS 2.0a 3. When I use the previous beta of SageMC, sage 6.5.11, and the previous version of Amis (ver 1. something) it fills the screen completely.

I am not certain if I tried the new SageMC/AMIS combo with sage 6.5.12, or 6.5.11, maybe it is just an issue with using 6.5.11.

I am currently restoring to a previous image of my HTPC, I will investigate further later.

As far as it being an overscan issue, I have my doubts, for the normal sage background is clearly visible behind the AMIS background and if it were an overscan issue, then why is it only manifested in the current version of AMIS and nothing else?

I don't think it is ben's app though as the default sagemc interface shows it bordered as well.

I am glad ben could reproduce so people won't think me and Babg are going crazy

I will test the upload you have above when I get home in about 1 hour as well as test what ben sent me.

Thats the thing, its just not AMIS its SageMC as well. Also even if you do have incorrect overscan settings SageMC default backgrounds will always allow for this using "resize to fit" within the image widget which is exactly what we use for the background images, hence the strangeness. Well thats if I understand it correctly.

I've just tried it and it does seem to have done the trick, I can't be 100% sure as I stupidly changed some settings before I saw this post. I'd wait until others have tested to make sure its been fixed.

I did not mean to imply that AMIS was the culprit, sorry there, bad wording on my part, rather I did not think overscan was the issue. Hopefully the new sagemcxml will sort it out.

For now I am sticking with the older v.1 fanart style until i get more free time on my "weekend" (tues, wed) I am currently running down a different issue, and will come back to this when more people have run it down.

The fix worked

Ben I didn't try the file you sent me as you said it makes some not look right and it appears the issue was with sagemc as it is now correct.

Thanks Plucky.

FYI. The problem really was overscan. I have the fanart images displayed within a Panel Widget. I had forgotten to set the 'Background Component' widget property to true for the panel.

If the property is not set to true, the widget will be limited in size/position according to your overscan settings. If it is set to true, the panel will fill the full screen beyond the overscan limits.

Aloha,
Mike

Plucky, can you clarify, does it also fix AMIS?

Mike, if it does also fix AMIS how is this possible? I don't understand, my import takes the images from the Pheonix api as yours does but mine is isolated from yours as it calls the api's seperatly. Hope that makes sense.

Yes it fixed AMIS as well.

I may have spoke early though as it slowed the interface down to a screeching holt when viewing the collection.

Used same images in the version where is doesn't fill the screen and browsing is speedy again??

How do I adjust my overscan if that is what is causing it as the new file you put on here makes things too slow.

Okay I adjusted my overscan and the old version works and is much speedier again. MAybe I should try the new version with the adjusted overscan? I saw a new option in it I liked

Now the overscan is simply for the sagetv menu and doesn't affect video correct? I had to stretch it quite a bit.

@PLUCKYHD

What screen slows down? All of them? You may need to turn off context sensitive fanart.
