unable to enable fanart backgrounds in SageMC_6_3_9a_23

just loaded up the newest SageMC beta (thanks Mike).

However, I'm not able to enable the fanart backgrounds. I can toggle the other settings in the "Fanart Options" screen, but the most important one, Fan Art Backgrounds won't change from disabled to enabled.

Matt

tried this on a HD200 and placeshifter, and neither lets me toggle this setting. It's just stuck on disabled.

edit: it appears (to me) to be set in the properties file
Code:
phoenix/mediametadata/fanartCentralFolder=D\:\\Fanart
phoenix/mediametadata/fanartEnabled=true
phoenix/mediametadata/fanartSupportClass=sagex.phoenix.fanart.PhoenixFanartSupport
phoenix/mediametadata/mediaMetadataSupportClass=bmt.BMTMetadataSupport
phoenix/mediametadata/parseMediaFileForTVSeries=false
i did download and install the newest pheonix before running this sagemc beta, so i should be good there. maybe i'll blast away the pheonix and try again.

edit 2:
getting these in the sage log
Code:
Fri 4/17 17:44:21.872 Catbert Method Lookup Failure for:phoenix_api_GetFanartBanners
Fri 4/17 17:44:21.872 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class phoenix.api
Fri 4/17 17:44:21.872 Catbert Method Lookup Failure for:phoenix_api_GetFanartBanners
Fri 4/17 17:44:21.872 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class phoenix.api
Fri 4/17 17:44:21.873 Catbert Method Lookup Failure for:phoenix_api_GetFanartBanners
Fri 4/17 17:44:21.873 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class phoenix.api
Fri 4/17 17:44:21.873 Catbert Method Lookup Failure for:phoenix_api_GetFanartBanners
Fri 4/17 17:44:21.873 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class phoenix.api
looks like the pheonix is having issues. (BTW, what is the "Catbert method")?

Make sure you have updated to the latest phoenix api's or BMT and restart SageTV (including the service if you use it).

fixed it.

I had downloaded the pheonix files that were linked from your post. So they should have been the latest.

What I did to fix it was to grab the latest BMT files, and install from there.

Maybe one of the earlier files were corrupted...not sure. but it works for me now. thanks

matt

I am getting this same problem on one of my machines.

I have extracted the latest jars and everything to no avail.

Worked on my other machine. When I got into Sage it says nothing next to the phoenix jar version

Have you tried updating to the latest BMT on that machine?

Did you restart SageTV (including the service if you use it) after installing the latest BMT? That should have taken care of it. (Also, don't install Phoenix again after BMT.)

Since you're speaking in the past tense, does that mean it's working now?

I should have added that I also deleted the pheonix entries in the .properties file too (of course while the service was stopped).

Not sure if regenerating those helped, but it was either that or reinstalling the pheonix files from the BMT that did it.

did you alter the path's? Usually if the path's stay the same for the recorded files, you don't need to do anything.

There is a sticky someplace about restoring your recordings.

Just put your old wiz.bin in the SageTV folder and it should recognize your shows again. Theres some good info the FAQ about show recovery.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I am having this problem as well. I can't toggle between enabling fanart and disabling it. I have installed the latest bmt and sagemc 6.3.9a 41 with no luck. Next to the phoenix api version there is nothing also. I have uninstalled sage and reinstalled many times trying to fix this.

Thanks.

I'm also having problems with fanart not working in .41. It was working fine in .23, but after updating, it no longer shows up.

BMT isn't absolutely required, is it? I had been taking a few screen caps manually for .23...

The way I fixed it was to reinstall sage and not use my properties file. I just added the important stuff into the new one and that fixed it. Also, you do need BMT.

For some reason my blu ray rips won't work after the new install. It says in the log that no source pin was found for the audio. What gives? Although, that is for another topic.
