Question Hauppauge MCE-150 IR Blaster and Sage.

I've been browsing for a few days now trying to get some definitive information but all I've found are some seemingly outdated threads, applications, and plug-ins. I'm simply trying to get the IR Blaster which came with my Hauppauge MCE-150 to change the channels on my Motorola DCT2000. Is there some kind of special plug-in I need? How do I configure this to work? I'm on XP SP3.

You might be missing an IR file for the Motorola DCT2000. I used to have cable TV setup and used the Motorola DCT2000 set top boxes.

The IR file goes in the following directory:

C:\Program Files\SageTV\Common\RemoteCodes\USB-UIRT Transceiver

You can also use IRHelper to help setup the USB-UIRT. I includeded three screenshots of IRHelper.

I don't think the USB-UIRT IR files will work with the Hauppauge 150's IR blaster.

To use Hauppauge's IR blaster, you have to use their config program to configure the blaster, leave the software running, then choose it in SageTV when configuring the tuner. I have no idea whether the Hauppauge software includes support for your STB, but, if so, p. 152 of the v6.5 SageTV manual shows where the selection is made in SageTV.

Also, if you are running sage in Service Mode, try disabling it and stopping the service. Then launch SageTV, set everything up again and see if the ir blaster is working.

It's a problem that's almost four years old that still doesn't seem to be fixed.
