Da Vinci Code missing Subtitles

I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this problem.

When playing back the Da Vinci Code (Ripped with AnyDVD) on the STP HD200 the "built in" Subtitles (someone please correct me if this is the wrong term) Do not appear.

Example: In the beginning of the movie the Monk is speaking on the phone in Latin & there are subtitles in English.

If I watch the same Rip on a PC using WMP then these subtitles show up!

Do I have some setting incorrect?? Or is this a "Known" issue with the STP HD200 ??

Any input is appreciated !!

Note: A Bug report has been filed.

Did you turn them on in the options during playback?

Apparently, these are called "Forced Subtitles" (Thanks Sage Support!) & do not need to be turned on. But I did try turning on subtitles & even CC, Unfortunately none of those actions caused them to show up.

But I appreciate the suggestion Stanger !!

Yup, but wasn't sure if maybe the way it was ripped made them "unforced". Or is this a BD? I don't think I've ever tried subs on a BD.

Funny you should mention BD.

I tried ripping the BD too, just to see if it would fix the issue & it behaves exactly the same way!

Weird

I had the same thing happen last night with Miracle at St. Anna. Toggling subtitles didn't work. However, going into audio and selecting English seem to cause the forced subtitles to display correctly at the appropriate times.

Any new information on this subject? I watched a BD rip of The International this past weekend, and there are a few scenes where subtitles are clearly meant to be displayed, but none showed up. So I skipped back and turned subtitles on, and surprise to me, I had text, unfortunately I had text for everything spoken, even english. So I'm seeing all or nothing at this point. I wonder how to switch on only the "forced" subtitles.

Im having the same issues... it's very frustrating... especially when watching something partially in english and partially a foriegn language.

I to have to turn on subtitles and turn them off when I need to see them... this mostly happens when watching ripped or ts'd Blu Rays or dvd's on my 200 and my HD 100 always shows subs when watching dvd's.... and they can't be turned off

Any update with this issue? Star Wars (the originals) are all victims of this as well. When Jabba the Hut is talking or any of the other aliens you have no idea what is being said!

Thanks,

Neil
