I was attempting to update my HD200 this morning when it locked up during the Erasing 1/2 process (I think on 13/28). I finally gave up and reset it and it failed to boot (not surprised). I'm trying to do a firmware restore back to the default setting and can't tell if it is working or not. When I hold down the "Back" button, the Active light flashes for a few seconds but then stops and only the Network light remains on. Is this normal or does this indicate an issue? I was using the extender in standalone mode prior to all this and I'm concerned it isn't finding my SageTV server correctly.
Any help in fixing this is appreciated. Thanks, James |

Do you have the stpV folder on the server?
Is the server running? (I'm not sure if that's necessary or not) Remember, it takes a while. So give it some time.

I managed to get it working. I had to reboot my SageTV server and then tried it again and the extender was able to restore back to the original firmware.

I'm glad you got it working!
Clift and I had a similar problem recently that we were discussing in another thread. Both of our machines got stuck at Erasing 12/28. I wonder if yours got stuck there and not at 13/28. I believe (and Clift please correct me if I'm wrong) that Clift and I were updating the firmware via the USB method when it got stuck. Were you using the USB port when yours got stuck? I'm just curious if that's a commonality. Clift was able to get his to recover using the server recovery method. Unfortunately for me, I was not able to get this to work. I'm still going back and forth with Sage support on the issue. If yours got stuck at 12/28 while using the USB firmware update method, that would go a long way with confirming my position that there's something wrong with the box and it's not operator error. Thanks! |

It might have been on 12/28 instead of 13. I was doing the update over the network but I did have an external USB drive connected that I was using to play videos from.
I managed to restore mine back to the original firmware and then tried to do another update and everything worked fine (although I did not have the USB drive connected during the second time). Hope you get yours straightened out. - James |

Mine was over USB.
I had another lock up just about a week ago and it was over the network and I did NOT have any USB connected at the time.
