HD-PVR output to Sage help

Received my HD-PVR a couple days ago and having trouble getting HD video out to Sage.

Am using fwchannelproxy2 to change channels. Works OK in Sage.

Loaded TME and I do get video out in that program. Wor/encoders file ks

Tried in Sage and I get no video at all. Change channel, it changes with the info on screen. 2 seconds and the bottom controls disappear and about 5seconds later, the top half. The screen is black.

Have a copy of the mmc/encoders file for the HDPVR if needed.
Is there anything else I need as my server is on another computer.

Sounds like a CODEC issue. What is Sage using for H.264 audio and video? What version of Sage are you using?

No video with HDPVR

Still having difficulties with understanding how to install the decoders or codecs (on my computer).
I get HD video through th HD100, but not on the computer.
I have seen 3 or 4 threads in the last 2 days (I beleive) with the same problem!
My response to your question from another thread.
1. Are you getting a Sage Error pop-up, or is the screen just black? black
2. Are you getting audio? Do the files play in the ArcSoft software? Yes
3. What version of Sage? V6_5_9
4. Did you set the H.264 decoder in either the Sage UI, or the properties file? How do I do this?

In my sage properties file there is no reference to videoframe/h.264_videodecoder_filter=. Some say ARCSOFT AUDIO DECODER will work. if it doesn't, how do I install the CoreAVC Video Decorder into my system?
Do I have to install/edit this manually into the properties file?

Being not to savvy with codecs, all the help is really appreciated.

In the beta's (not sure about 6.5.9) there is a way, through the Sage Client UI, to pick your H.264 decoder. Arcsoft should be fine. If you don't have that property line in either file (are you running as a service?) add it. Make sure Sage is shut down. You may try a couple more lines to see if they'll help. See below. Adding codecs usually occurs when you install software. You can also use DirectShow Filter Manager to register individual files.

If you want to use CyberLink PDVD8 Decoder add the following:

videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8)

If you want to use CoreAVC Decoder add the following:

videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=CoreAVC Video Decoder

If you want to use Arcsoft Decoder add the following:

videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=ArcSoft Video Decoder

If you want to use Divx Decoder (in beta) add the following:

videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=DivX H264 Decoder Filter

Also:

videoframe/aac_audio_decoder_filter=ArcSoft Audio Decoder

videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=ArcSoft Video Decoder

always_use_dshow_player=true

mplayer/use_for_all_mpeg4_playback=false

finally

I couldn't get the Arcsoft decoders to work, even though I could view HD in TMT.
I did put it in as videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=arcsoft video decoder
What I did was register CoreAVC video decoder. (with Code8.3) and replaced ARCsoft in the sage.properties file and WAHLAH it worked.

Thanks so much. I really don't watch it on the computer as I do have a couple of extenders which are OK (waiting for the caps to fail)

Great. Just for clarification, when you add the "Friendly Name" to the properties file, it *HAS* to be *EXACT*...so it should have been ArcSoft...did you have it that way? Glad CoreAVC worked. I don't know if it uses hardware accel though...what's CPU utilization like?

I put it in as "ArcSoft Video Recorder" without the quotes of course and I tried it again and now have video. I had put it in that same way before (with caps in appropiate places)

I am running a Q6600 CPU.
Utilizing 25-30% usage with some choppiness. Not to concern as I just use it for reference and do not watch it. Using HD100 extenders for viewing.

A question on the quad, is the % usage on one cpu of the Quad or total usage?

Also, Arcsoft installed ACDaemon.exe in my process, is this necessary?
